The Payne Family.
On Saturday night the Pa v ~ c family gave one of fr-\ tileasinc entertainment*-' „ -?* Vift 8 /% ... - .. etc the public hall to wtraed house. Wherever they go they are excellently received, and it appears merely a l'epetition to say that each item on the programme was conscientiously performed and pleasingly rendered, and met with most hearty applause It gave us pleasure to hear Mr SLeele once or twice, that it would please the performers, and also be appreciated by the majority of the audience, if perfect quiet was maintained whilst the playing was going on, after which they would gladly accept an acknowledgement of their satisfaction. The result of these few observations, enabled all to enjoy the entertainment, and we hold it a wise act on the caterers to the public amusement to explain this fact to their audience. We are glad to announce that this Company will return here about the end of February,
