Four of the strongest ships of the United States navy have been despatched to Valparaiso.
Details of the ou.tvage committed on sailors belonging to the American warship Baltimor *, at Valparaiso, show that one hundred Chilians dragged one of the blue jackets off a tram car and sh ot him dead. Seven others were Severely injured by bayonet stabs, including one officer, while thirty-fjve were imprisoned. A murder has taken place in Berlin surrounded with circumstances similar to those attributed to " Jack the Ripper " in London and the United States.
The Czar has pardoned the Grand Duke Michael, whom he deprived of all ranks held in the Russian army, owing to his secret marriage wirh the daughter of the Duke of Nassau in April last.

It is proposed to run electric trains between Milwaukee and Chicago during the World's Fair. The rails will be utilised for transmitting the electric currents, and the whole system can be worked with perfect safety.
