MESSES F. R. JACKSON AND COS JONHSONVILLE REPORT. Fat cattle in moderate numbers j were good quality throughout, and of medium weights. The market was steady at a decline of Is per 1001 b on ' last week's quotations. Sheep in average supply were irregular in size and quality, and on the whole inferior. Bidding was dull, as there is little or nothing doing in the export of mutton, and local requirements for the present appear to be limited. Pigs met with a dragging sale. Choice baconers and porkers went off fairly well, but coarse sorts and indifferent weaners were almost without competition. Bullocks, £6 12s 6d to £7 ss, equal to 16s the 1001 b. Sheep— Light wethers, 15s 3d to 16s ; ewes up to 16s Id. The following are some of the prices realised at the Bulls sale on Tuesday, as stated by the Advocate : — Cattle— 22 2 to 2£ year steers, £3 3s 6d, 28 3 and 4yr bullocks, £4 16s ; 6 heifers, £3 10s ; 8 fat cows, £5 Is 6d ; 11 yearlings, £1 15s. Cows sold at an average of £3. Sheep— 3l9 first-class Lincoln hoggets, 15s; 140 mixed hoggets, 13s 6d ; 406 mixed hoggets, 13s 6d ; 304 ewes and lambs, 14s 3d ; 163 fat wethers, 15s lOd ; 45 fat wethers very good, 16s.
