The attention of the Members and the General Public is called to some of the special features connected with the Society, which is the oldest Colonial Institution of its kind, having been established in the , year 1840. The results of the business for the Fortyfirst Year, ending 31st December, 188K, may be summarised as under : — First— The number of the New Policies issued was X1,664. Second — The new Assurance business effected was for £3,678,459. Third — The New Annual Premium Income amounted to £121,800. Foukth — The net increase to the business, after allowing for Jobs of income from terminated Policies, was represented by 7028 Policies, assuring £2,---109,109.
