Messrs Stevens and Gorton report : _We had full entries of both sheep and cattle at Sanson on the 22nd ; smaller than usual at Feilding on the 24th. The sheep at Sanson were of a superior class, and found ready sale at recent rates, every pen finding a purchaser. Considerably larger numbers of sheep came forward at Feilding than were advertised, mostly of a somewhat inferior class. The" tone of the sale was dull throughout, and several pens were turned out unsold. A smart drop from the somewhat abnormal values which have prevailed lately in dry sheep was perceptible. Cattle, with the exception of female stock, maintained their prices at both sales. We quote as under : — .Cattle — At Sanson— 2-yr steers, £2 14s 6d to £3 ss ; yearling, £2 ; forward cows, £3 12s Gd ; store cows, £2 17s ; wcaners, 26s ; milkers, £3 7s Gd to £5 19s Gd.

At Feilding Fat Bullocks, £6 10s ; fat cows, £3 10s to £4 7s Gd ; 3-year steers (rough), £4 Is to £4 2s Gd ; wall-bred' 2 and 2i-yeav steers, £4; 18-month steers, £2 18s Gd ; 3-year heifers, £3 Gs Gd ; stove cows, £3 2s Gd ; yearlings, 39s Gd to £2 ss.

Sheep —At Sanson — Hoggets, mixed, 12s to 15s 8d; well-bred ewe hoggets, Ms 3 ld to 16s 3d; wether hoggets, 18s Gd to Ms 9d ; fat wethers, 17.3 to 17s 6d ; forward wethers, 15s 3d ; fat ewes, 14s 8d ; ewes and lambs, lGs.

At Feilding -Fat ewes, shorn, 10s Id ; forward wethers, 15s 9d ; hoggets, ,11s Gd to 13s lid. Hacks, £G 2s Gd.
