The story of tho barque Mikado, nM narrated in the Admiralty Court holel in Dunedin, is a mo->t curious omM and instances the many danger* attendant upon those who " go dow« to tho sea in ships ". The VvcM Association report that the C'S> w;H a claim of £'2508 on a bottomry boifl given at Paraguay, Sou'h Americß by Captain Overtop,, of the ba qftj Mikado, which was to leave Now Yc^H for F lined in and Lyttoltoli tmr_fl Captain Bunn, but Captain -'i'^| went on board and asserted his rigfll as owner, and took charge. Every--1 thing went wr-H for sometime on the voyage, but < a; tain Angel eooii commenced to broach cargo, and getting drunk, ran arbiick. Armed with four rovolver^, he paraded the deck, shooting at everything about him. He pm into Trcjueusßay, an open roadstead in Brazil with a viow of effecting repairs to the rr.drler, but as they cruldnot be effected there he went on to Paraguay, and under plea of getting repairs effected, commenced to unload and sell cargo. Oaptain Overtoil was sent there on behalf < f the underwriters and found the barque insufficiently manned, some of the crew having deserted, and insufficiently moored. Finding it impossible to do anything with Captain Ar.ge 1 , he took stops to get the Briti.-h Consul to form a Naval Court. While the proceedings were on Captain Angel went up country and died ; avid as Captain Overtoil had no personal credit there ho gave a bottomry bond, and as he could not get another master he had reluctantly to take charge himself. The bond was given for repairs, outfits, provisions, etc. An order for a decree wati made, the terms of which will be fixed, the question being as to whether there is jurisdiction to order the vessel to Lyttolton to discharge,
