negatived by 8G to 20, and Mr O'Conor's motion was also lost by 46 to 12. Mr Bees' appointment was then agreed to the voices. The North Island Main Trunk Railway Loan Application Act Bill passed its final _ _^. The w&ulments made in the MunicipaMUorporation 13111 by the Legislative Council (including the insertion of a clause exempting charitable institutions from taxation) was agreed to by 43 to 9.
