-+— . Our first extensive sowing of broad beans and early peas must now . be made. Sow the beans in drills about . 4in apart, and there ought to be Bft between the rows. The distance between tfce rows of peas is to be, . regulated by the kind of pea sowed, and still more by the extent of grqund available. Four feet between the rowj3 for peas attaining the height of aft is advisable if the extent of the garden will admit of- i& Cabbages for summer and autumn use require to be sown very speedily. Seed sown' very thinly in a box of fine soil and placed on a mild hotbed wilLprovide a stook of fine youngplams & »/ very, short time. T^e seea should be sown thinly in the boijOr the seedlings /will beoorpe crowded and drawn up, or the steins; will damp off at the level of the ground. A sowing made in the game manner, of Waloheren cauliflower, may be made. These seedlings, when large enough, can be prfektf Off in some well-she'tered
spot (a frame, if possible). The soil into which these plants are pricked out should be sufficiently holding with a layer of rotten manure on a hard surface, so that when planted out each may be lifted with a good ball of soil. — Exchange.
