Deputation to the Government.
Oh Thursday a deputation formed of those interested in the flax-milling industry waited upon the Government. The deputation was introduced by Mr J G. Wilson. Messrs Gardner and Holmes and two' other gen tlemen formed - the deputation. . " v The Government were represented by Messrs Ballance and McKenzie. > The questions of grading flax, arid i , of granting & bonus for the discovery ,\ of superior machinery were discusst-d. >^<Mr Ballarice did not agree ' ,with grading, but Mr McKenzie promised to offer a bonus for a process for reducing the cost of flax. '' The deputation having thanked s the Ministers, retired.
