Kiwitea Road Board.
The ordinary monthly meeting of this Board was held in the Board's office on Saturday, the 20th inst. Present— Messrs Taylor (chairman), )V. .G. Lucas, L. Holden, Reid, Williamson, Shannon, Mills, Homer, and Haythorne.
" From the Star's report we clip the following of interest to our readers :
Letters were read from Robert A. B. MoKenzie, requesting that a road be formed into the Pohangina Block as soon as possible.
From F, Richards, D. McKenzie, and others, requesting their thirds be expended in opening up the, Pohangina road.
The following resolutions were agreed to :-r- . . r . , Proposed by Mr Luea's, seconded by Mr Reid, That the , Secretary, write to Mr Corpe informing him that the Board will hold him responsible for all dainaga&one tp.-the main road, or any other road, in the J?6x.ton Small Farm Block, by hauling logs across or along it, and also informing him that the totara on the road belongs to the Board, and that he . will be expected, -to pay £1 for each tree thai, he has taken, and not to remove any more without the Board's permission. Proposed by Mr Lucas, seconded by Mr Holden, That the Secretary reply to B. B. McKenzie stating that the Board will meet the wishes of the settlers in this matter (re petition) subject to approval of Land Board.
