Wanted— A Doctor.

We have hart many representations made to us about the necessity there is for some earnest steps being taken to secure a medical man. The mere fact that there is no doctor in a district of this size eloquently proclaims the need for prompt measures teing taken to secure one. The fact that there is a difficulty to secure a doctor, without providing a guarantee fund, announces the extremely healthy nature of our climate. Accidents occur at any time, and most unex* pectedly, and many who have been lost, might, perhaps, have been saved had medical skill been at hand. The healthiness of the climate should make the raising of a fund an easy matter, as it shows that but little drain is made upon the purses of our settlers for physic, we- do not even have to throw it to the dogs,) as we have no need to purchase it. We shou'd therefore be willing and able to subscribe a yearly sum to secure attention to any of our numbers who may meet with any mishap, which our delightful climate has naught to do with. We understand that some move will shortly be made by one of our Councillors, at the next meeting of the Borough Council, it being held, and rightly to, that the membars of the Council are the representatives of the people, and all actions should be given a start by them when in meeting assembled. From what we have learnt there would be but little trouble in accomplishing the object, when a little push is given, and a little trouble is taken.
