Considerable time was devoted to receiving petitions and notices of motion. >v :.....,», The Speaker read the judgement declaring Mr Allan unseated for Te Aroha, and disqualified for one year^ : After a short discussion judgement was ordered to Ibe"\entered in the usual way. The Premier moved, That the Speaker issue a new writ. — Agreed to. The House adjourned at 4 p.m. till tomorrow. FRIDAY, 12th JUNE. The House met at 2.80. Mr Fisher moved an aoiendment of the Customs Tariff^ 4 so as to remove the duties on the necessaries of life, and that the loss resulting from this be made good hy •. additional duties bsing placed, /on : certain articles. ; The Hon. Mr Ballance 'said the amount of duty which Mr Fisher proposed to aboh'sh by his resolution was and the value of luxuries proposed to be taxed was £55j000.
