Wirokino Road Board.
The above Eoad Board held its usual monthly meeting at. its offices at Levin on Saturday last. Present— Wardens Wallace, Staff, and i)avies. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. The follo\Hng resolutions were agreed to : — Proposed by Mr Wallace, seconded by Mr Staff, That Mr J.. Dayies be appointed Chairman fcjr! the ensuing year, and also that the Board feels greatly jmdebted.fou the generous and business-like manner in which he has advanced and endeavoured to carry out the business of the said Board. ,■., • ..^ Proposed* .by^Mr Wallace, seconded by Mr Staff;^©^i'.^ Kabbell be authorised to deal 'with' ' Mr A. McKenny re his letter to the Board 'concerning unpaid rates and bushfelling along this boundary. Proposed by Mr Wallace, seconded ,by Mr Staff, That permission be given to Mr Bradley to fall Manuka^ street a distance of ten«chains at 8s per chain. ■ Proposed by Mr Wallace, seconded by Mr Staff, That the present meetbe adjourned until after the adjourned annual meeting of the Board. Proposed by Mr Wallace, seconded by Mr Staff, That Mr Scott be in- 1 structed to call for tenders in the expenditure of £20 metalling on the Muhunoa road east ; also to confer with Mr Kebbell with reference to the same. That the application of Messrs Mudgway and Fairbrass be granted re gates and fencing on-Jervois-street and Kangitira street. Such fencing and gates to. remain during the pleasure pf the Board. .• , That, the Chairman be instructed tp write to the M,R, Company re i crossing . and gates at Heatherlea grossing. That the Engineer be instructed to call for work on Railway terrace, Ohau ; to be in by the next meeting ot the Board. That the action of the Tommittee in accepting tenders on Saturday, 2nd May, for the undermentioned, works be now confirmed, viz.,
Thomas Bevan, metalling Horowbenua district road for the smn of £24 15s lOd. Clausen and Anderson, No. 1 Tokomaru Valley road for £656, and Thomas Young for No. 2, Tokomaru Valley road for the sum of £668. That this Board agrees to pay the Bank of New Zealand interest-en-, overdrafts obtained by the Board. Such overdrafts being sanctionedand now confirmed. The bharge for interest to be retrospective, _ and Jor^ future accommodation. That the tender, of F. for work on the Kereru road De accepted. rThe memorandum re loan for Levin be held over till next meeting. That the sumof-fljO^e granted Mr Matsen extra on his^ contract account.' ,' • Accounts for £287 18s were passed for payment.
