The Chief Justice's judgement took an hour in delivery; He; considered there was no authority in law for the appointment, and it ought, therefore, to be cancelled. lv n? r > * e } iYevill S his own judgment the Chief Justice said that, although he was in favour of the Crown', the majority of the judges were in favour of defendant. ' Justices Eichinond, Williams, and Denmston have delivered their judgments, in favour of Judge Edwards. Judge Connolly's judgment is in favour of the Crown. The judgment of the Crown has been entered up for defendant with costs. The question of appeal to the Privy Counoil was mentioned by.
