Seventh — The deaths among lives assured were G49 under 735 policies, causing claims upon the Society amounting to £299,602, irrespective of Bonus additions, while the number expected according to the Tables used in estimating the liabilities would have been 1143, for an amount of £435,---9*76, the mortality experience being thus extremely favourable. Eightji— The receipts from interest and rents were £516,832, an amount exceeding the sum paid for the claims by £138,952. - Nintii— The expenses of Management were only 9.5 per cent, of the total receipts. Tenth — The cash surplus divided for the year 1889 was £4L2©,4.-94-- 5 being at the rate of 4L1.5 per cent, on the premiums received.
