Hayti.

♦ Another instance of the excitability of the races that live near to Central !

America, is given in the last cable news that a political outbreak has occurred in Hayti, and the President murdered. Hayti is the western portion of the island of San Domingo, which next to Cuba is the largest of the West India Islands* Its capital is Porfi-au-Prince, and its President was General L. M. F. Hyppolite. It is a Republic and has a population of 550,000. We find that the country is rich, and fertile, and the mountains contain gold, silver, copper and other minerals, but its commercial prosperity is annihilated by almost continual revolutions. The principal foreign trade is with Great Britain, France and the United States.
