Manawatu Road Board.
j « - I At the last meeting of the Manaj watu Road Board, the Times reports • that, Messrs C. Dunk and J. Beale I waited on the Board and drew atten- • tionto the bad condition of the road • from Jaokeytown to Oroua Bridge, [ particularly the portion known as the " Half-Crown." . Members agreed that the road was ' in a bad state, but pointed out that i the effecting of repaus would be of no use, and that a very large expenditure would be required to i>ut it in order. "Warden Flyger stated that the road known as the " Half Crown " did not belong to the Board, and they could not do anything to it. The road properly ran along the railway line. At the suggestion of Mr Bea'e, who referred to the necessity for connecting two important district like Foxton and Palmerston, it w»s decided to ask the Minister for P.i!> lie Works to have the work <• vir-d out.
