THE NEW GOVERNMENT.
The new Government were sworn in at half-past 8 on Saturday afteruoou, and at once took possession of their respective rooms in the big buildings : — The Honourable John Ballance to be Premier, Colonial Treasurer, Minister for Native Affairs, and Commissioner of Trade and Customs. The Honourable Patrick Alphonsus Buckley to be AttorneyGeneral, Colonial Secretary, and Postmaster-General. The Honourable William Pember Reeves to be Minister of Education and Minister of JusI iiee. The Honourable Richard John Seddon to be Minister of Public Works, Minister of Mines, and Minister of Defer.ca. The Honourable John McKenzie to bo Minister of Lands and Immigration and Minister for Agriculture. The Hon J. G. Ward, member of the Executive Council with out portfolio.
