The Foxton Racing Club.

+ The summer meeting of the above club will be held on Thursday. A large gathering may fairly be looked tor, as a day's outing at these meetings are always enjoyed. The course is one of the best on the coast, and for good running it is better this year than it has ever been, owing to the attention paid to it, and the frequent showers. An excellent brass band of 1G performers has been engaged, and the programme, a capital one, will be found in the " correct card." We believe the Committee and Secretary have worked hard to secure success, and we think they will gain it. The entries and acceptances are good, and for the hack races the entries are very numerous. To those who prefer strong ale, it will be attainable, as two publican's booth's will be in operation. Those who wiselyjprefer " the cup that cheers but not inebriates " will find their wants obtainable at the refreshment booth, Any one having a fancy to back " the favourite " will have the opportunity on the totalisator run by the well known firm of Hill and Poole. We only hope that the weather may be as usual on the race day, and then a most enjoyable day can be spent The following weights have been declared for the Hack Eaces in connection with the above Club's Summer meeting, to be held on Thursday next : — HANDICAP HACK HUBDLE RACE. st. lbs.
