Resignation of Sir William Fitzherbert.
« On Friday night Sir William Fltaherbert's resignation" of the Speakership of the Legislative Council was forwarded to his Excellency the Governor. Although his health generally has considerably improved recently, Sir William finds that an increasing deaiuess will prevent him continuing to hold the Hpeakership, and feeling that he could not satisfactory resume his duties when Parliament |meets on the 23rd inst., he decided 'to resign at once. Sir William has been Speaker of the Legislative Council since IH79.— N. 7t. Times,
