« MESSRS F. R. JACKSON AND COS JOHNSONVILLE REPORT. Johnsonville, December 17. Freeman B. Jackson and Co's Johnsonville stock report: — There was a large muster of fat cattle iv the pens to-day, consequent upon there being no sale next week in observance of the Christmas holidays. Manj' of the steers were light in condition, the remainder being small, bnt undoubted'}' prime and very suitable for summer beef. Bidding was good throughout, but tlie top prices of iast week were not quite upheld. There was a fair entry of sheop, which included some fine wethers and solid ewes. Bidding was noe so keen as might have been oxpecfed for the quality, but the lots were ultimately disposed of at satisfactory rates Only a few lambs represented this class, and these sold well. Pigs in moderate numbers were well competed for, stores being moro keenly sought after than other sorts. Yeai calves dull of sale. Cattle £5 to £6 17s fid average £. g, £._ Gs 7d, £6 3s 8d: vealeis, (is to 12s Gd. Sheep — Wethers, lis (id to 12s 3d ; fat.pwos, 10s od ; lambs, 7s 9d. Pigs — Baconers, 24s to 28s ; porkers, 15s Od to 20s; stores, lls to 13s Gd. Ox beef, Ms to 15s the lOOIbs, according to quality ; wether mutton, 2d per lb
