Last Eriday's Evening Post gave the following alarmist local: — "A fall in the price of flax has occured \<> London. A cable message despatched to Messrs Murray, Roberts and Go on Wednesday is as follows ; — "New Zealand hemp Priee^ have declined £4 per ton. Market is uns eady. A most the who'e bought in." The Now Zealand Loan and Mercuntile Agency Company (Xiumed) have received the following cable message from their London office, datod 14th mst., viz :—" Tallow There is a fair demand. Mutton tallow has declinod (id per cwt s ; nco last report. Quotations for beef tallow unchanged sine* las', roport. fro/en Meat - Mutton m rket un changed. Bivf m irkot quiet. New Zealand beef, f>requarters is worth and hind quarters S.VI per lb. Now Zealand floinp — Market unsettled. Medium is worth £26 10s per ton. Manila marl-et easier."
