The Circus.
— ~4 The Manawaln Times says :— The Cowboys have severed their connection with the Wild West Show, and Mr Meadows and six others together with an Indian, remain in Palmerston and will give an open air performance on Wednesday afternoon, on the A. & P. Showground. TJu'}' were unable to show wh*t they could do last night in consequence of the inadequacy of the arrangements. Mr Meadows, one of their number, called at our office to-day, and explained the reasons which led to their severance from the Company. He states that instructions were given to the cowboys when the row commenced to fire on the crowd. This they re fused to do, and they were then told to charge the crowd with their horses, which they also refused and at once left the Company. They have instructed Mr A. Southey Baker to bring an action against the management in connection with the matter. The public will no doubt, sympathise with them in their difficulty. In connection with their performance on Wednesday, they will invite the public to bring any unbroken horses or wild cattle, so that they may thoroughly demon* strate the Cowboy's plan of dealing with these animals.
