Foxton Racing Club.

The Annual gen ral meeting of the above club was held at the offices last night There were a very small attendance. Mr Russell was voled to the chair. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confimed. The following report and balance sheet was read : — Report of the Committee op the Foxton Racing Club for the Ye.ir ending 81st July, 1890. Your Committee have the pleasure to submit) the eighth Annual Report The receipt from all sources, including a balance from the previous year of £41 14s 9d, amounted to £767 3s 0 i, and the expenditure has been £720 6a 2d leaving a balance to profit and loss account ot £46 16s lOd. The sum of £468 10s was paid in stakes, £06 4s 7d in improvments on tho course, the other items of expenditure being the Sicretary,s sa'ary, printing band and sundries. "We are pleased to report that the Membership has increased from 28 last year to 47 this year. We are sorry to bring under the notice of this meeting the eorres pondence that has taken place between the Secretary and the Wellington Baciug Club by which it will be seen the Wellington Cub has ignored the date of .our regula^ summer meeting — the 22nd ot Jan' uary — and in spite of all objections, have arranged for a race meeting at We'Hngtm. It will be for this meeting t > express an opinion as to whether this Ciub shall still adhere f;o their usual date. The Committee advise doing bo. Your Committee would desire to p'aoe on record its appreciation of the valuable support accorded to the club by all the officials. The results of tlie past handicapping having proved so successful thp Committee earnestly advise the continuation of the same system. BALANCE SHEET. Mr Purcell moved that the Secretary wrote to the Wanganui o'ub to use their influence with the Wei Hngtonclub > to get them to alter date of their summer meeting. Messrs Davidson, Purcfll, Eussell, Williams, J. H. Kobinson and Thynne were elected a committee and Stewards, Judge Mr P. Bobin son, C erk of the geales Ifr J. R McMillan, Handicapper, the com mittee, Starter Mr S. Powell. Time keeper Mr W. H. Haybittle, Sec retary Mr F. Gr. Andrews, Treasurer Mr W. G. Robinson. It was decided to hold a meeting in about a fortnight or three weeks time to arrange a i>rograrame.
