A mketixo of tli© Mannwatu Rowing Club was held at Whyle's Hotel on Wednesday ovening, at 8 p.m., to consider urgent business and thp election of officprs. The Secretary (Mr P. Before going into the business of the ereninfr, a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr Cook and the ladies who so ably assisted at the concert, which was giren in aid of the Club's Funds somei short time KwirV.

The balance sheet was passed as read. Proposed by the Secretary and seconded by Mr Hinchliffe, That £25 be sent to Mr Norton as part payment of lila account ro expenses to Dolly Varden and the two uew boat*. — Carried. Before the election of officer* took place the following proposition w*g carried : Proposed by Mr Hinchliife, seconded by Mr Fitzgibbon, That three members, Captain, and Secretary be a Committee —Carried. The election of officers was then proceeded with, and resulted in the following gentlemen beiny elected : Captain— MY Hunter. Committee — Messrs Howard, Hinchiffe, and Cook. The retiring Secretary was unani. naously re-elected for the ensuing season. The Secretary informed the meeting that he bad insured the boat-shed and boat in ease of fire. Proposed by the -Secretary and seconded by Mr Cook, That the Bulei and By Law 3 of the Union Boat Club, Wanganui, be adopted with a •light alteration.— Carried. Proposed by Mr Potter, seconded by Mr Enderby, That the Clubcolors be light and dark-blue hoops. — Carried. Proposed by Mr Hirichliffe and seconded by Mr Hunter, That ladies be not admitted in any Club-boate on Tuesday, or Sunday afternoons, or after 5 p.m. on any other day.— Carried. The Committee were instructed to interview Messrs Bradcock and Messina to see if any alteration could be made to abate the nuisance caused by the drainage of vegetation from thei« wash. The usual rote of thanks to the chair terminated the proceedings.
