The question with regard to road 3 on the Oroua Downs Estate, upon which a resolution wrs passed at last meeting, WB;S discussed, and the matter was amicably settled after Crs McLennan And the Chairman had explained how tke misconception arose. On the v letion <i Cr Sai son, seconded by Cr McLennan, it was resolved, " That Mr. Hankms be re* quested to p* f>are specifications for alternate tenders, pne^f r working: thetramwayfor» portion of the receipts* and the other for leasing it for a period of two years from the 10th day of June next* tenderers to state,, in the laat ca>e, the weekly rent they ara wiih'ug to pay for it, and to name two vureties for £50 each for the due performance of their contract, rent to r be;, payable monthly in advance, and '>s«)•• auc cessful tenderer to pay all'the^p-t of preparing the necessary lease, etc." Resolved, on the motion of '(> Me Kentie, seconded by Cr Hammond, " That tie <ieerseer and Mr; Brooks be requested to pr pare plans and specifications for a water supply* for th" v eof the tramway at Sanson, anfl that the clerk call for tenders for the work, to be in by next meeting " ....... Kopani amounting to six acres^ and recotu* mended hat the price asked £30 per acre, be paid to acquire it. It was resolved, on the motion o^ Cr Kobinson, seconded by Cr San' son, "That tenders be M called for collecting the dog. tax for the coming year, tending to be in by next meeting " Proposed by Cr Sanson, seconded by Cr Eohinson, " That the report of the Campbelltown gravel reserve committee be adopted, and that the council purchase 1 the six acres of laud at £30 per acre, the, same to be charged to the separate^ms'rict account of the Campbell -Tidiog " The Chair-iian objected that it would be unfair to sadille the 1 ampbell Riding with the cost of the reserve. ■■ ■ , < .. , ■•,(,.; .- Cr Sanson thought thjaivi! was gui c fair that the riding-- should bear the cost, and said' iHtpbig: the on'y prey ous case in which the Road Board had bought- *<gray» 1 pit in a ward, the ward had to. bear the expense. Cr McLeunan, suggested that the reserve should be bought by the council, and a charge* made to the ridings for the extraction of gravel, and Cr Sanson a tered his resolution in accordance with the suggestion, and fixed the royalty at 3d per cubic yard.
