The usual meeting of the Foxt r n B rough Council teok p ace last Monday erenif g, at the Library Buildi gs, at 7 p-n. Present : —'I he Mayor (J. W. Grower), Cm Jenks, McMillan, and Furrie. The minutes of the previous meeting were lead and confirmed. INWARD CORRESPONDENCE. From -Manawatiu Koad B ard stating " That this Board will suppoit the Foxton Borough Council in tkeir action — to try and prerent the Pa merston Borough Council from carrying their sewerage into the Mxnawatu River." Fron Horowhenua County Council, •• Forwarding a oopy of a reuolu' tion passed with reference to the Borough of. Palraerston emptying th^ir sewerage into the Manawatu River, also «ugge^ting an immediate application for an injunction to re .strain them from proceeding with the scheme." From the Pa'ineraton Borough Council, ackuowl dgin.j the receipt of the copy of resolution passed relating to the Palnierston North sewage works. From the Wanganui Hospital and Chant ib « AiA Board, staring : "At a meeting held on the 26 of March a coutrib'itiou (if Is Gd per £1000 for Hospital in -intenance and 2s 6d per £1000 for Charitible Aid purposes was levied ovi r the district under th" Board's juriadi tion. The value of your Borough for rat* ing purpose is £63,003, and the amount ieviid is £4 14s 6d for H 'Bpital maintenance and £7 17s 6d for Charitable Aid purposes. The Ist of April was the time fixed for the payments of these contributions. OUTWARD COKRESPONDENCE. Langley's for fencing, and T. Newth's for getting gravel. The following resolution* were pas* sed :— That the action of the Com.nittep, in accenting the tenders of U.
