The attendance of the public was not large, ai.d the bidding was very slow, the 'a'e cablegrams re flax havhad a most disheartening effect on the speculators.
It is satisfactory to note that at the sale and immediately aftei wards the undermentioned lots were quitted :— Al'tmen* No. 6, adjoining the old County office, to Mr J. W. Liddell for £20. Allotments No's 22, 23, 32 and 88. withcottago facing Dun-
can street, to Mr Henry Bradcook for £175. Allotments 19 to 21 facing Kaveneworth place and the river, to Mr W. Lidd4l for £100.
Allotments 120 a. and 120 b. fac ing Harbour street and Clyde street, to Mrs Whyte for £120. We understand that allotments 9 to 13 with the dwelling lately occupied by Mr Gi- sen are likely to be sold, an offer having been made, which is uii'ler consideration.
