STRVRNS * GORTON'S STOCK REPORT. Bulls, nth March. 1890. Ouv first sale at Fo:;ton was a greater success than we anticipate ', large entries came forward of a good class of gheep and t'.ie bidding wag spirited, and prices obtain d satisfactory. At Palmerston on Ihursday we held the largest sheep sale we ever held there, and our yai'ds were taxed to their utmost to provide accommodation chiefly because several clients brought sheep which were not advertised— a great mistake because we can always provide plenty of aecoroodatfon and the sellers loie by not advertising in 1 this instanoe, however the sale was a great success. The bidding wag spirited throughout, especially for good ewes. The 2 and 4 tooth Lincoln ewes bred by Mr James G. Wilson, brought after keen competition 14s 3d per head. They were a good class of ewes and as Mr Wilson has been breeding with pure bred Lincoln for many years he reaped the benefit.
