The Spawn Desiccator.
Proposal to form a Company. In connection with the above we may state that the commiHee appointed oVtMx>kS&j last at the meet ing in the Exchange Hall have obtained from Mr Spawn an offer in writing of his pa' ents and services in connection with fruit desiccating and preserving and blight killing, for the entire colony of New Zealand, on the following t >rms, viz : — £500 down, £260 at 6 months, £250 at 12 months, £1,500 in shares in a company to be formed, and £500 in goods— fruit and vegetables dried by the company. Mr Spawn is unable to leave his offer open later tha» this evening. The i omorittee will endeavour to get some gentlemen in the city to take up the patents as a syndicate until such time as a company may be formed to take up and work the patents in thecolony The committee invite 'he public to signify what shares they would be prepared to take up if they can in , duce such a syndicate to act. It is proposed that the share capital should nofc be less than (including the 1500 shares to be taken by Mr Spawn^£7ooo, and that it be in £1 shares, 2s 6d on application, 2s 6d on allotment, and the rest, if required, at intervals of not less than three months. It is proposed that the oompany to be formed should not only undertake the working of l the patents, but should at onse set a desiccating machine to work, and enter into arrangements for stimu lating the growth of fruit and vego* tables, and providing instruction tiind assistance in the work.
