- — ♦ — The New Zealand Stud Company held their annual yearling sale of thoroughbred stock at Sylvia Hark, Auckland on 2nd January There waa a vei-v largo attendauce, and the prices realised were eminently satisfactory. Forty- throo y arlings submitted, and the' total amount realised from their sale was 61 5fl guineas. Amongst the principal buyers were Messrs "Wilson, of Ade hiide, G. G. Rf,r>nd, Canterbury Oo'lnn and J. 1), Ormond, and I). U'Britm. The highest price given
was Ua- a cult by ;\i..r.l^iif,l,i( - v;.|i. Monro, which afior !uvn compolion "Was sold to "Mr Wilson, of Adohudo for 10i>") guineas. A filly by Nor denfoldt — Florence McOarfcy, wai sold to Mi' Gollan for .525 guinea.* and ho also "bought a Noidenfeldl;— My Idea filly for 210 guineas. A[i Stead gave 125 guineas for a No. . doufoldt— Pulchra filly, whilst -J,">C guineas were paid by Mr D. O'Brieii fov a colt by Nordenfeldt — Crinolino All of the Clydesdale stoclc of the company was sold at good- prices, and a number of thoroughbred brood mares were also disposed of. The •■tfallion Leouinus and Captivator M-fire sold, the former for guineas and the latter i'or 14 guineas.
