FOXTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
The usual monthly meeting of the above Council was held at the Library buildings on Monday at 7 p.m. " Present— The Mayor^ and Councillors Coe, Jonaon, Furrie, .T. R. McMillan, Jeuks and T. P. From Horosvheuui County Council enclossng agreement for signature by the Borough, in connection with the road to Kereru and punt. Considering a report on the punt, 1 an account from Mr Honore was put in, and the Mayor moved — That MrHonoro's account for nails and felt and boards &c as supplied to Thomas Howe ferryman for repairs of puut, be not jai'd, as this Council believes these repairs shall fall upon- the ferryman.' TliJs being seconded by Cr Coo was put to the meeting and carried. The following resolutions wara carried. That the report of i.he committee held on December 9th ISB9 respecting accident to punt and' th°^ I '°" i solutions passed at that meeting be 'adopted. Also further report' and resolution passed at committee mooting held Dec. lGth be adopted. That the dog tax for this year of five shillings a head. That permission be given to Mr McMillan to concrete footpath pposito his shop in Main Stre o Foxton aud a' so to erect a hoarding to protect same, providing ai light ba placed over structure in accordancewith the Borough by laws. That tenders be called for metalling 8 chains on Wirokino rroard r tenders to be in at next meeting of Council. That Mr K. F. Gibson. Borough Clerk, be appointed valuer for this Borough fo/t.'ie year 1890-91. The 'following tenders for the Collection of tlio dog' tax were opened. JL Blake, lOdper dog ; P. Guerin, 104- Her dog' ; J. Smith, lOd.per dog, and 1 also supply collar* at ten shillings per dozen. ■„,.„. It was proposed by C> Williams, seconded by Cr McMik^j-That Guerin's tender be accepted tor collection of (log tax, and was cv' m cd, Tenders for lamplighting were opened:— C. Spring ; £.'32, P. Geuwm, £31 1 It was resolved that Mr P. Guri.i's by accepted. The following resolution was? then passed. That leave of absence be given to Town Clerk for 14 days from Saturday llthinst. The following items Avorev passed for payment:— G. 'J'rask, £25 3s, N. Z. Railways, £1 l4 s 6d; 0:-Sul-livan, £6 1.35"; T. P. Gibson £:i Ss4d; P. Guerin, £4 5s and 14s Bd.. H. Blake, £3 14s 6d; (7- Spring £5, aud £4 15a 2d.
