FOXTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

The usual monthly meeting of the Borough Council was held at the Library buildings last night at 6.30 pm. Present — The Mayor, nnd Councillors McMillan, Coe, Jenks, Jonson, Fume nnd Williams. The M yor subscribed the usual declaration on entering a new term of office. Cr Willi ms said that the leaks in the punt were all above the water line, and he thought an expenditure of £10 would make the puut right for two years. The Mayor said that Cr Jonson said all the knee were old and Mr McLean who had one* repaired the punt, said that he was sure it would v t pay to repair it. The Mayor said probably the Horowhenua County might object to find the half of the cost of repairs H j also snid that when the £50 was paid by she Horowhenua County there would he £30 a so in hand, so that nearly 'ialf the cost of a new punt was found, and thought it was best to work amicably together.
