TO THE EDITOR OF THE MANAWATU HERALD.
Sib,—ld case of »n outbreak- of fire, in the town I wouldftuggent that there should be some system if possible of being prepared for such a calamity by forming a bucket brigade. There should be no difficulty in starting it with a. regular practice weekly, by.those who would volunteer for bo good a cause. If this can be carried it might be 4ha means of preventingl.much property from being destroyed, and it is always well to be prepared. |Yours, 4c., F. B. Woodbav. Foxton, Sept. 2nd 1889.
