Wirokino Road Board.

i The usual monthly meeting of the Wirokino Road Board was held on Tuesday, 4th June, at the residence of the Chairman, Wirokino. Present — Messrs Davies, Kebbell, Andrews, Gascoigne, and Macdo&ald. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. ■ It was proposed by Mr Kebbell, seconded by Mr Andrews, That Mr Davies be elected Chairman for the present year ending the 3rd May, 1890, and was carried v lanimously. The following resolutions were passed : — That the report of the engineer be adapted. l'hat Mr Kebbell be appointed Treasurer for the year ending 3rd May, 1890. 'Jhat the tender of C. Better be accepted for the sum of £92 15s for Horowhtfnua road, and that the tenders for the bush felling and clearing on Muhunoa east road be left to Mr Kebbell to deal with. That Mr Fairbrass be a'lowed to j fall the bush on the road line opposite his sections 75 and 76, Township of Ohau. That applications be invited from persons willing to undertake the duties of Treasurer and Clerk and rate .cpgeetor u> the Board. Applicants to state salary required, and that the Chairman and mover be a committee to. draw up specifications and conditions. Applications to be in at the next meeting of the Board. That the Chaiiman T>e instructed to apply to the Minister for Lands to grant a quarter of an acre Section in Levin township to the Board to enable it to erect offices thereon. That a committee consisting of Messrs Kebbell, McDonald and the mover be authorised to meet the committee appointed by the Horowhenua Council re taking th* necessary steps foi>tn» v erfie^m. of a toll gate ou the Foxtou-Hefcberiea road.
