LONDON. A plan has been submitted to the naval authorities for the construction of 70 warcihips with an aggregate tonnage of 318,000 tons at a cost of £21.500,000. It is proposed to build 8 battleships of 14,000 tons each, 2 ot 9000 tons, 9 large and 83 smaller cruisers and 18 torpedo gunboats Thirty-two of these vessels aro to be on the stocks within a year, and the whole to be completed by April, 1894.
