The last show held o n the Continent was anything b'jt a success, but the one now proposed to be held in London, is in h&iads,. that secures the success as. a certainty. Sometime this year-, 'in the height of the fashionable season. Messrs Pearii', o.f soap renown, intend to liold a Reauty Show. All nationalities willb© allowed to compete, but instead of being overwhehmed with subjects, the firm intend selecting only, thirty living specimens, from the photographs they are requesting as a'first introduction. "When they have made the selection the thirty will be exhibited in some hall, placed In little niches, an& be attired in •evening dress. The competition will lasfca fortnight. .Every visitor to the show will be allowed to. vote for his choice be she darli or fair, short or tall. ;. It is not stated whether their decision will be acted on, or the votes only taken as a sort of rough, guide. At the end of the show, the' Press are likely to present a testimonial to Messrs P^ars, and a a Big Beauty Ball willmako a signal
