"Dressmakers," writes a Paris correspondent, "are hard at worky and the air is fu'l of rumours tts to what is going to be worn, this spring. Directoire and Empire styio reign for the present, and most often a mixture of both.,. But these are beginning to be replaced by the Greek and Princess costumes though made mp at present solely for evening wear. -Should the. style take, they will be adapted for walking costumes this spring. The ' low-6rowned bonnets and hats are still in vogue ; for this, theatre and concert-goers will send up a heartfelt thanksgiving. There is, however, in some <jjf the new hats a tendency to gain in breadth what they lost in height. There are several oa what, might be termed. the nwsjQToom. model. TPhe villa La Rochefoucald at Biarritz, which has been taken for -the Queen, stands about a mile and a half from the sea, on the road to Bayonne. It has been taken from JPebruary 1, and her Majesty will ■pend about five weeks at the Pyre.- --■ nean watering-place.
