The report of the chairman of lublic works committee was read. The following resolutions were ,greerl to. That tke offer ot £100, as paid by ktr Liddell to this Council for the ate County Chambers be made to lie Manawatu County Council in erms with letter written by the tfayor onFebruury 19th. That the Council endorses the iction of the Mayor in selling the railding lately known as the County 3hambers together with the land for ;he sum of £100 to Mr J. Liddell, £20 cash and £80 approved bills vith interest added. That the Property Tax Commisdoner be informed that the valua;ion list for the Borough has not Deen deposited in any public place ivithin the Borough. That Cr Nye be empowered to lave the bridge upon Neylon street repaired at about estimated cost. That all rates due to this Council md unpaid 14^ days after this date shall be at once sued for without Further notice. That tenders be called for clearing swamp main drain to be in by Monday the 18th March, and that Crs Nye and the Mayor be a committee for accepting the same, protded that the adjoining holders of roperty pay one half the cost. Tenders for the Wirokino ferry ere opened — T. Bow-e, J661 17s 6d >r first year, and £66 10s for the econd year. J. Hillary offered £U 4s for the Lrstyear or £109 4s for the two pears. Besolved that the tender of Thomas Bowe for leasing the ferry at Wirokino be accepted subject to a deposit of £10 and signing an agreement to execute a lease when called upon. That office accommodation be provided for the Borough clerk and tenders be called for the erection of a small office to be sent in by Monday the lSth and Cou icillors Nye and McMillan be a committee to open the same. ACCOUNTS PASSED. Charles Spring, £2 14s; John Sullivan, £6; T. F. Gibson, £4 6s lOd. W.Park, £4 10s 6d. E. W. Mills & Co. £1 7s lid; C. Honore, £6 15s lid. E. Osborne, 16s. That leave of absence be granted to Cr Jenks for this meeting.
