[The following was issued as an Extra on Sunday, at 6 p.m.] (By Telegraph.) (from our own correspondent.) # ELLINGTON. Sunday, 5 p.m. A severe and protracted earthquake occurred at 5.22 this (Sunday) m morning. No serious damage has been done, so far as I have been able to learn, but a large number of minor damages . have occurred. Several brick buildings have been cracked. A mantelpiece was thrown down in Government Buildings. One or two chimneys have been thrown down in the town. Extensive breakages of crockery occurred, and a large number of clocks were stopped. It was the heaviest shock that has * occurred for 25 years.
