THE BOER DIFFICULTY SETTLED.
Capetown, Maroh 21. Telegram* today report that the armistios bstween the Boers and the British troops, which expires today, will be prolonged for another fortnight. The requirement- that the Boers should surrender their arms is the sole difficulty in ihe way of a oomplete understanding for the cessation of hostilities being arrived at. London - , Mir 'h 22. In the House of Commons today, the Proiuer annou nCe d that the Boer* have ae•>et»ted the conditions of pence submitted to •hens bi Sir E Wwl. Under them the R-'.-rs will reenonise the suzerainty of the Queen in the Transvaal, but will enjoy a ••omplete autonomy, a British Resident, however, being located in the capital. Mr Gladstone further stated that the Royal Commisoion would arrange the native frontier question and consider whether the ransvia! ahould loje territory to the eastward. He concluded by statirg that the Boers . ouH dispute their force" forthwith, but the British garrisons wonld remain in their present positions until ft complete set* tlo-nont had b?en effected, and in the meantime tbe troops would be stationary.
