(melbouke akgus special ) London, December 17. The Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland has announced its resolve to frustrate the Land League. It is also intimated that in consequence of the numerous requests for arms the Grand Lodge has arranged for a supply from England, to be dis'.ributed in the west and south of Ireland. December 20. (SPICIAL TO SYDNEY MOBNING HERALD.) London, December 20. Mr King has, with the approval of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the United States, drafted resolutions to bo submitted to the United States Congress, expressing regret at the unhappy position of Ireland, and adding that the British Government appears unable to fulfil its » normal duties for the protection of * life and property ; also, that the Hon. W. M.. ISvaits, Foreign Secretary of State, be instructed to inform the Government of Great Britain that it is thought to be expedient that there should be immediate reforms in Irish affairs, and that pacification should he prosecuted in a kindly and considerate spirit. A telegram from America, stating that Congress is likely to adopt these resolutions^ las caused much excitement here. December 21. The Orangemen of Londonderry assembled at Coler aine, and burnt in effigy Parnell and Biggar, the Land Leaguers. The second battalion of Grenadier Guards, so rarely sent out of Eng» land, is ordered to proceed to Ireland. In consquence of the disturbed Btate of Ireland, the Empress of Austria, who had arranged to go to Ireland this winter for the hunting season, has abandoned her intention.
