FOXTON LOCAL BOARD.

■ The Foxton Local* Board, at a meeting held last Wednesday, passed the following bye-laws, in connection with the appointment of a Ranger, and the wandering cattle nuisance. They have been forwarded to Wellington for the Governor's approval. 1. Iho Foxton Local Boprd may appoint one or more persons to be ranger or tungdn and such ranger shall be the proper officer of the Board within tho / meauins: of the :.ye-law relating to cattle wand-irinar at larjje and numbered 2 of this regulation, and shall impound all cows, horees, dsscs, shaep, goaty, swine, or other cattle found in any street or roud so wanlering without any fit person in charge thereof during the sumo, within the said Local Board District, provided that the ranger may in his discretion destroy any goat or pie either instead of impounding it provided further that it shall be lawful for the ranger to impound any cattle iv the public pound accoriiug to the law or hye laws from time to time for the time being iv force relative to impoundiug of cattle by private persons,and to m ike a charge of one shilling for every head so driven to the pound. 2. If any cittln shall be found upon any street or road, whether public or private, or any of them within the Fuxt-m Local Board D.strict without any person having charge of and driving the s ira • cattle, tho proper officer of the Board may Heize suoh cattle and impouad the same in the public pound.
