Considerable sales of both of. the above descriptions have transpired lately. Sales of lower quality are not so easily made. The quality offering continues large. Barley.— Sales of good ronlting hare taken place during the week at 2s 6d to 2s Bd. The quotation for first cla*s remains at 8s 3d, but the samples coming forwai d answering to this cla. » are not numerous. Potatoes.— Demand for shipment lntely has been comparatively brisk at 22s 6d to 255. Other lines unchanged. Stock market.— Sheep — There was a good supply of fat sheep ; a small proportion of those ynrdfd were extra prime, but the bulk werti only of medium quality. Prime crossbreds sold up to 1 9s for good to 21s 6d for prime; merinos, 12s Gd, and light weights are worth 10s ; mutton is quoted at "zfd per lb. Stores being in smnll supply excited keen competition, und sold at high rates. The supply of good cattle was in excess of. demand ; prime beef fetched 22s 6d per lOOlbs ; several lot 3 were turned out unsold.
