FOXTON LOCAL BOARD.
Tuesoay, June 29, 1880. The Board met at the Athenooum at 6 p.m. Present — Messrs Easton (Chairman), Reeve, Coley, and Purcell. The minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed. Proposed by Mr Coley, seconded by Mr Reeve, and carried," That a Committee, to consist of Mr Reeve land the mover, examine the drain 'complained of by Mr Feck, and report at the next meeting of the Board." Palmer, salary as clerk, £4 65.7 d; tptal £95 125.1 d. $ome discussion toot place as to several of the accounts for labour, it being felt by the "Board that. . some members of the Works Committee had exceeded their authority. The resolution allowing labor to.be^emr ployed was therefore rescinded. Mi* Purcell suggested that instead of carts being employed indiscriminately, tenders should be called for the supply of carts at per day.
