MANAWATU HIGHWAYS BOARD.
Tho Board met at Palmerston yesterday, Mr M'Ewen in the chair. Messrs Howe, Saunders, Carter.and Rousell presented a memorial from Moutoa eettiers, asking that their rates might be reduced, owing to losses by the late flood. The Board resolved to remit one-half the rates payable by the memorialists. A shilling rate was decided on. The Hoard has an overdraft at the Bank of about £70C
