It is thought probable the Government will at once appoint an AgentGeneral in London, in consequence of Mr Childers having resigned his position as Chairman of the Board of Advice. ± .London, April 21. Eecent attack by Gladstone on Austria continues to excite angei* at Vienna, and Gladstone's explanation as published in the Vienna journals, states that he speaks only pf individuals. The reported massacre of British troops by hostile Pothans, between Quefctah and Candahar is denied. Tie iintation existing between Russia and France in consequence of refusal of latter to extradite Hartmann has cooled down. Chanzey remains at St Petersburg, and Count Orloff returns to Paris. The members of Beaconsfield's administration, with the exception of the Prime Minister, who was absent, were received by Her Majesty at Windsor to-day, when official leavetaking took, place, and the seals of office were delivered up. Her Majesty thanked the retiring Ministers for their services, ± Fishery exhihitiotffra£oeen opened at Berlin with considerable ceremony by his Highness Frederick WiUiam, Crown Prince of Prussia. Appeal made to the Superior Court in San Francisco against sen-* tence passed on Denis Kearney, for using seditious language, has been dismissed. Kearney, who was liberated on bail during the interim, has been" re-arrested, and committed to prison for the period of his sentence, ten months; he is also required to pay a fine of 1000 dollars imposed by Judge Dix.
