HAY WARD'S PANORAMA.

The Chairman informed the Committee that he had received an application from Mr Hay ward, for per mission to allow the use of the school for the exhibition of a panorama of New Zealand. He had consulted two other members of the committee, and thoy had come to the decision that they saw no reason to depart from the rule not to allow the use of the school for such purposes while there was a public hall in the place. The committee agreeed with the course they had adopted. CATTLE STRAYING. A letter was read from the schoolmaster, drawing the attention of the committee to tha dangor that existed from the number of horses and cattle wandering at large in the vicinity of the school grounds. The letter contained a rather "warm " reference to another governing body, and it was decided not to receive it. Several members spoke of the nuisance and danger caused by wandering cattle. Mr Stewart also referred to the cattle crossing' the ferry, and said children had recentl}' been prevented from attending school by the cattle in the vicinity of the ferry. He proposed : " That the Chairman be requested to call the attention of the Chairman of the Local Board to the danger to the children attending school from horses and cattle straying in the streets, and j also from the cattle crossing the ferry " MISCELLANEOUS. The Chairman reported that several matters in connection with the school had been attended to. He had, at the instance of the master, written to the Secretary of the Board for tablets, music sheets, and one or two other articlos for school use. An application had also been made for a separate entrance fur girls to the building, and the Secietary stated thatthe application had been laid before th« Building Committee. ACCOUNTS. Two small accounts amounting to £l Is were passed for payment.
