FOXTON SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

A meeting of the above committee ■was held at the offices of Messrs. Thynne, Linton & Co on Tuesday afternoon last. Present — Messrs. Thynne, (Chairman), Gray, Burgess. Stewart, and M'Anulty. APPOINTMENT OP PUPIL TEACHER. In answer to an application from the Chairman, asking for the appointment of a pupil teacher, the Inspector wrote, submitting the name of" Ellen Howan as a fit and proper person for the office of pupil teacher," and stating if the committee agreed with the nominatiun. the appointment would date from the lsfc of April The schoolmaster, Mr Hulke, attended the meeting, and supported the nomination, his replies to the questions being very favorable to the candidate. It was proposed by Mr Gray, seconded by Mr Burgess, and carried — " That the appointment of Ellen Howan as pupil teacher be confirmed."
