— r^ London, March 31. The general eleotiolis for the new Parliament have commenced. Up to the present time 10 Liberals and 8 Conservatives have been eleoted unopposed. Calcutta, March 31. According to latest news from Ca* bul General Stewart's force has arrived, at Ghuznee without meeting with any open hostility on the part of the enemy. It has not yet transpired what General Stewart's further movements will be. Sydney, Thursday. In consequence of the recent action of the Legislative Council in twice rejecting the Bill for imposing Stamp Duties which was sent up from Legis. lative Assembly, — Sir Demy Parkesj the Premier, has introduced in fhe Assembly a Bill to deprive the Council of future power to amend money Bills. Sir Alfred Stephen has given notice for introduction of a sirailai Bill in to the Upper House. Pakis, March 31. It has been officially stated that the French Government do not iutend that their decree dissolving the Society of Jesuits shall further have the effect of expelling foreigu members from France.
